With plenty of delicious summer foods tempting us, it’s hard to stay on track with our diabetes meal plan. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! In this blog post, we’ll share three of our favorite diabetic-friendly summer recipes. So get your cooking hat on and let’s get started!

What foods should diabetics avoid during the summer?

Diabetics need to be especially careful during the summer months. The heat can cause dehydration and make it difficult to control blood sugar levels. Furthermore, many summer activities involve eating sugary foods like ice cream and lemonade.

Stay healthy this summer by avoiding sugary drinks, processed foods, and foods high in saturated fat.  Focus on eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains.  Stay hydrated with water and avoid sugary drinks like lemonade, soda and sweet tea. With some planning, diabetics can enjoy summer while keeping blood sugar levels under control.
